Lower/Mid Back
The image on my back (the two half moons, connected by a thorned vine and the symbols) represents the message of balance and the difficulty humans have in achieving that.  One moon is serene, the other is fierce.  Humans have a habit of treating each other like shit and the thorned vine represents the separation between them.
The symbols:
  • Pentagram: represents the five elements of earth (water/fire/earth/air) plus spirit. Basically the earth as we know it, and that which our human eyes choose not to see yet we still feel "something" (intuition).
  • Yin/Yang: represents the male and female energies on the planet in harmony with each other which CAN be achieved.
  • Dragon: represents the fantasy and magic I personally feel still exists only people fear it and thereby deny their own power
  • Peace: upside down represents the fact that we, as a human race, are not at peace yet (just listen to the news sometime)
  • Upper right shoulder
At age 18, I decided to pursue my first tattoo. I knew I wanted a skull (skulls have been a fascination for me since childhood) however, the meaning behind the tattoo came clear either during the tattoo being done or just soon after. For me, the skull represents the facet of all humans that every person has within (take away the skin and what is left is the same). The dagger symbolizes the self inflicted pain we partake in towards ourselves. The lotus flower on the forehead symbolizes the possibility of rebirth that CAN happen. The flaming star is the reminder that HEY, quit bein an asshole and know yer only hurting yourself!
    Back of the Neck Center
The tattoo on my neck represents Druid wisdom, a knower of truth and the symbol is the circle of life.  The Druids were people whom may have originated from Ireland.  I say "may have" because there is difficulty in tracing the actual history as little of it is on paper. They were teachers, philosophers, and diviners that honored the earth. From their tutelage came the Celts and their warrior-like honor. The Druids also held their women in high regard as the wise women who passed on their knowledge. In short, "the picture that emerges of a druid, then, is one of a thoughtful philosopher and magician, schooled in the lore of the traditions, and in charge of the education of the chieftains as well as those who sought esoteric knowledge. A druid is a knower of truth, able to manipulate that truth as well as inform others about it. Scholars, they were advisers to kings. As healers, they treated the ill. These roles may seem to be details, but they are the foundation which a allows a more detailed discussion of magic, philosophy, and the relevance of the druids to today’s world."

    Both Wrists
The wrists are a design that combines the Lunar Goddess medallion and art from the La Tene Celtic period. Not that I am all about gods and goddesses (more like energies), however, I do feel a strong attraction to the moon and the universe stars. Friends have called me "moon goddess" or D.G. (short for Dark Goddess) and frankly, that fits me just fine! The sun and moon under the wrists represent again, the balance we as humans must achieve to find harmony (the sun is defense, the moon is acceptance).
    Navel
My navel tattoo is a very personal message to me. One of my issues had been balance between the mind, body and emotions. The tattoo is a Druid symbol for balance, something everyone yearns for in their life, the set point where everything falls into place.
